What are you looking for?
With over 500 cans, the category is the starting point, not the homepage.
Compare easily. Dose perfectly.
We show you the exact nicotine content for every can, divided into 5 levels. This lets you compare all brands and products with each other.
The cans look confusingly alike. One says “Strong”, the next “#3”, the third “Ultra” — and none of these words can be compared with the others. Each brand assigns them by its own standard.
Three details, on the other hand, mean the same everywhere: how strong a variety is, how large the pouch is cut and what it tastes like. We list them with each variety — regardless of what the manufacturer has written on the can. This lets you put two brands side by side that otherwise have nothing in common.
The snus you'll find here
Nicotine pouches
The core of our product range. Small white pouches without tobacco leaf — inside are plant fibers, nicotine and flavorings. They are dry, low in odor and look similar across all brands. What sets them apart is listed with each variety.
Two figures describe the strength: the nicotine content in mg/g and a level. For the Czech Republic, we carry varieties up to 12 mg of nicotine per gram, in the levels Mild and Regular. Then there is the format — that is, how the pouch is cut — and the flavor.
Between brands there are differences that appear on no can and in no specification. Anyone who knows several brands knows this: pouches can be drier or moister, the fleece smoother or rougher, the filling tighter or looser. There is no figure for that — everyone finds it out for themselves.
What can be compared is what is listed with the variety: strength, format, flavor. That gets you from one brand to the next without guessing anew each time.
Chewing tobacco
Chewing tobacco consists of tobacco and is chewed. It comes loose and in portion pouches.
For chewing tobacco, you'll find the brand, variety, flavor, the form and the weight of the can. There is no strength level here.
Some brands carry chewing tobacco alongside their other products. Which type a variety is is therefore listed with the variety, not on the brand name.
Use: chew to release nicotine.
Product containing tobacco. Contains nicotine. Harmful to health and can be addictive.
Nicotine-free pouches
Same construction as a nicotine pouch, just without nicotine. Accordingly, there is no mg/g figure and no level.
Several brands carry them alongside their other products, often in almost identical packaging. If you have a can in front of you and aren't sure: the product page says it clearly.
The selection ranges from mint through fruit and berry to liquorice and coffee — so the flavors overlap with those of nicotine pouches, but the selection per flavor is smaller. As for formats, it's mainly Slim and Regular.
Energy pouches
Caffeine instead of nicotine, otherwise made the same way. The flavors go their own way here: lots of fruit, lots of berry, plus varieties reminiscent of energy drinks. What exactly is inside is listed with each variety.
Here, too, some brands carry both — energy pouches alongside their nicotine range, in similar packaging. A look at the variety itself clears it up.
Snus, snuse or snusen
The spelling varies. People search for snus, for snuse, for snusen, occasionally for snooze. These are not different products but different spellings of the same word.
Snus doesn't really have a plural: one can of snus, two cans of snus. For searching our shop it makes no difference — buying snuse and buying snus lead to the same product range.
How strong is strong?
This is where comparing usually gets stuck. “Strong” appears on a great many cans, and it doesn't mean the same thing everywhere: varieties with “Strong” in their name are spread across several levels in our shop. That's why nicotine pouches show two figures side by side.
mg/g — the figure you can compare
mg/g means milligrams of nicotine per gram. Two varieties with the same figure have the same concentration, no matter which brand is on the can and how the pouch is cut.
That is what matters when you switch from one brand to another. Remember the value of your usual variety — then you can see at once for any other brand whether it covers that range at all and which varieties sit there.
The level — the rough direction
Two levels for the Czech Republic: level Mild and level Regular — there we carry varieties up to 12 mg of nicotine per gram. The levels summarize what mg/g breaks down precisely, and they are good for browsing: when you know which area you want to land in, but not down to the decimal place.
Within a level, varieties differ in their mg/g value. The level gives the direction, the figure the exact point.
If you want to know exactly, the figure for the individual variety is what counts.
If you are trying nicotine pouches for the first time, you'll find varieties with less nicotine in the levels Mild and Regular.
One thing that is constantly mixed up
Level Regular and format Regular have nothing to do with each other. One is a strength, the other a pouch size. A variety in level Regular can come in format Slim — and vice versa. That's why strength is always preceded by the word “level”.
The formats
The format describes the size and cut of the pouch. We carry three:
- Slim — narrow and elongated. Almost every brand carries it.
- Mini — shorter and flatter than Slim.
- Regular — wider and shorter.
Not every type comes in all three. The selection is wider for nicotine pouches, narrower for nicotine-free and energy pouches.
Slim is the norm: if a brand carries only one format, it is almost always this one. Regular and Mini are found at far fewer brands.
Even so, it varies between brands: two varieties both listed as Slim can differ slightly in their cut. The format tells you the category, not the millimeter.
The flavors
When it comes to flavor, the selection is wide, and product names are of little help here. That's why each variety also carries a flavor — regardless of what it is called on the can.
The widely stocked flavors
Mint and Fruit are the two flavors with the largest selection. Mint covers spearmint as well as peppermint and menthol — three variants that differ in character, even though they are in the same group in our shop.
Then there are the blends, and there are many of them: mint with berry, with citrus, with melon, with eucalyptus. Each is listed under one flavor — some under Mint, some under Berry, even though both are in the name. Which one it is, you'll see with the variety.
Fruit ranges from watermelon and mango through peach and apple to cherry and grape. Berry stands beside it as a flavor of its own: blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant.
Citrus brings lime, lemon and limoncello, sometimes with some heat behind it — jalapeño turns up here more often than you'd expect. Cola comes plain or mixed with lime, cherry or vanilla.
Within the widely stocked flavors, the range is broad. Under Mint you'll find varieties that are almost purely cool, and others where the mint stays more in the background. Under Fruit there is everything between clearly recognizable melon and blends of several ingredients.
The less widely stocked flavors
Coffee covers espresso, mocha and cappuccino. Liquorice ranges from mild to salty. Sweet gathers bubblegum, vanilla and almond notes.
Then it gets specialized: Spice with cactus and pepper, Eucalyptus as a flavor of its own, Floral with elderflower and wintergreen, plus individual varieties with a tea or hemp note.
These flavors are mostly limited to a few formats and not available in every level. If you're looking for them, it's best to go via the flavor page and see what's there.
And Original — varieties with no added flavor at all. On the can they are usually called “Blank”, “Classic” or simply after the brand.
Where to find what
The shop has several entry points, and depending on what you already know, one or the other is faster.
Category pages
One per type — nicotine pouches, chewing tobacco, nicotine-free, energy. Start here if you know what should be in the pouch, but not yet from whom.
Brand pages
One per brand, with everything currently available from it. From there you can narrow things down within the brand — by strength, format or flavor.
Strength pages
One page per level. Handy if you know the range you want to land in and would like to browse from there.
Format pages
One per format, across all brands. Handy if the cut is settled for you and you want to browse from there.
Flavor pages
One per flavor. On these pages the types are mixed: nicotine pouches, nicotine-free and energy pouches can share the same flavor.
All routes can be combined. From a brand page to a level, from a flavor to a format — or the other way around.
What the words on the cans mean
Every brand names its varieties differently. Still, a few patterns repeat.
“Fresh”, “Frost”, “Cool” — and “Ice”
You can rely on these three: “Fresh”, “Frost” and “Cool” almost always stand for mint. If one of them is in the name, mint is a safe bet.
“Ice”, on the other hand, is not — you'll find it just as often on fruit and berry varieties. The same goes for “Freeze” and “Arctic”: these words describe the cool sensation, not the flavor. A variety with “Arctic” in its name can be mint or berry.
Conversely, there are mint varieties in which none of these words appear. If you're specifically looking for mint, the flavor page gets you there faster than the name.
Format words in variety names
Format terms in the name don't always match the format the variety is listed under in our shop. In our shop, “Regular” appears on varieties from three different formats. If you're looking for a particular pouch size, use the format filter rather than the name.
Numbers in variety names
Quite a few varieties carry a number, such as “#3” or a digit after the name. It is part of the manufacturer's name and cannot be compared between brands. That is what mg/g is for.
“Blank”, “Classic” — and “Zero”
Varieties with no added flavor are often called “Blank” or “Classic”, sometimes simply after the brand. In our shop they are listed under Original.
“Zero” means something else: it stands for without nicotine, not without flavor. Varieties with “Zero” in their name all belong to the nicotine-free pouches, and they come in several flavors — from mint through fruit to liquorice. The same applies to brands that already carry “Zero” in their name.
Blends
Some varieties carry both components in their name: berry with mint, cola with cherry, citrus with heat. Which flavor such a variety is assigned to is listed with it — it can't be deduced from the order in the name.
Our snus brands
The well-known names are here — VELO, ZYN, Loop and others. Alongside them are brands you see less often, and a few that come in only a handful of varieties. None of them ranks above the rest.
What sets the brands apart is less the flavor than the way they build their range. One carries both levels, the next stays in one and focuses on a variety of flavors there. Others again carry separate product lines with their own names.
The brand name says nothing about the contents
This is easy to fall for when searching. Quite a few brands carry two or three types at the same time: nicotine pouches and chewing tobacco, nicotine pouches and nicotine-free varieties, nicotine-free and energy pouches. So the same brand appears on several category pages.
If you're specifically looking for something without nicotine, the brand name alone won't get you there — the information on the individual variety will.
Product lines within a brand
Many manufacturers carry several product lines under the same name, often with additions such as “White” or a number. The lines differ in how they are made and in their strength range.
How broadly a brand is positioned varies a lot. Some cover several strength ranges, others stay in one and only vary the flavor. You can see the levels a brand covers on its brand page.
From one brand to the next
You have a variety that suits you and want to try something similar from someone else. Remember three things: the mg/g value, the format and the flavor. Then go to the new brand's page and set the same values.
What remains comes closest to your starting variety — no matter how differently the two cans are labeled. If nothing remains, loosen the format first. It says the least about what a variety is like.
A run-through as an example: you have a mint variety in format Slim, level Regular, and want to know what another brand has that is comparable. You open its brand page, set flavor to Mint and format to Slim. Then you see what is available in which level — and, via the mg/g value, which variety comes closest to yours.
It's normal for the new variety to have a different name. Brands name their mint varieties in completely different ways, and the name alone rarely tells you where it sits.
Buying snus: how to find something fast
Four filters narrow down our product range and can be freely combined: product type, flavor, format and strength. You can reach a specific brand via its brand page.
Three routes
You know what should be in the pouch. Then start at the category page — nicotine pouches, chewing tobacco, nicotine-free or energy — and narrow down from there.
You know how strong it should be. Then go via one of the level pages and continue there by flavor and format. The shortest route if the strength is settled.
You know which brand. Then go via the brand page. That way the brand stays fixed while you try out everything else.
An example
Wanted: something with mint, small pouch, not quite mild. So product type nicotine pouches, level Regular, format Mini, flavor Mint. What remains is a handful of varieties that fit on one page — and each shows the exact mg/g value for fine comparison.
Not every combination has results. If the selection comes up empty, remove one filter again.
What's in a can of snus
Not every can holds the same amount. How many pouches are inside is listed with the variety, next to the weight of the contents in grams.
Only both figures together give the full picture. Two cans with the same number of pouches can contain different amounts, and two cans of the same weight can contain different numbers of pouches. If you want to compare, look at both.
They don't tell you how strong a variety is. That is what mg/g is for — the figure stays the same no matter how big the can is.
With some brands the pouch count is the same across all varieties, with others it changes between product lines. If you put two cans side by side, it's worth a quick look at both figures before you take them to be the same.
Ordering snus: everything in one cart
If you want to order snus, you don't have to commit to one type: everything goes into the same cart. Nicotine pouches, chewing tobacco, nicotine-free and energy pouches can be freely combined, even if they come from different categories.
Some items contain several cans. Which varieties and how many cans are included is listed with each variety.
If you want to know more
Three guides go deeper than this page.
The terms
Snus, nicotine pouches, chewing tobacco, nicotine-free and energy pouches — which word stands for what and how to tell the types apart. Also for anyone unsure whether “Nicopods” and “nicotine pouches” mean the same thing.
Strength and mg/g
How the levels come about, why mg/g is the comparable figure and why “Strong” means different things on two cans. Plus the mix-up between level Regular and format Regular.
Formats and flavor
The formats compared, why the product name differs from them and how the flavors relate — including the variety names from which you can't guess the flavor.
If you haven't decided yet
The product range is large, and if you come in without a set goal, you'll be facing a lot of cans at first. Three entry points suggest themselves.
By flavor. This is often the detail you're most likely to have an idea about. From a flavor page you can then narrow down further by strength and format.
By a brand you know. Even if you only know a single variety: the brand page shows you what else it offers, and via mg/g you can find comparable varieties from other brands from there.
By format. If you already know which cut you prefer, the format page is the most direct route. It shows side by side all brands that carry this format.
All three can be combined, and none of them is a one-way street — each filter can be removed individually.
